Porsche FAQ

Porsche Specific

Will a 991 steering wheel fit a 992?
No — the 991 and 992 use different airbag generations and connector layouts. A wheel built for one will not function correctly in the other even though the rims look similar.
Can I keep the Sport Chrono dial and mode switch?
Yes. On 991 and 992 builds the Sport Chrono dial and mode selector are retained with your own core, so the drive-mode functions remain factory-original.
Is Race-Tex or Alcantara better for track use?
Both give excellent grip. Race-Tex is Porsche's own specification and tends to wear slightly more evenly under gloves; Alcantara is more widely available in custom colours.

The Assembly

Is this a wheel or a cover?
A wheel. It replaces the factory assembly rather than covering it, and it is engineered to OEM fitment and function.
Real carbon or a printed look?
Real — 3K woven or forged, no hydro-dipping, no wrap, no imitation. A film does not age or reflect light the way a cured composite does.
What makes forged carbon different?
Compressed fragments instead of a woven grid. The pattern is unique to the part, and strength and durability are unchanged.
Is it lighter than the OEM wheel?
Yes. Carbon saves mass over the original material, and it is mass the driver feels at the rim.

Compatibility

How do we confirm it fits?
Make, model, year and a photograph of the current wheel. Fitment is checked before the order is accepted.
Does my airbag move across?
For most cars, yes. The factory module is reused and the cover is shaped to it.
Do paddles and buttons keep working?
They do — the original paddle assemblies, buttons and trim are retained.
Is RHD available?
For selected models. Send the details and the fitment check will say whether yours qualifies.

Build Spec

What can be specified on the build?
Grip material, thread colour, center marking and carbon finish — plus the shape of the rim.
Which rim shapes?
Round OEM, flat bottom, D-shape, racing profile. The core is cut to the chosen shape, so it is fixed at order.
Can I add shift lights?
Optional LED rev displays and shift indicators on selected models. Model confirmation decides.
Will the heated wheel still work?
On compatible cars, yes. Heating, vibration and ACC need their own harnesses and modules, must be specified at order, and may add cost.

Track-Side Fitting

Any cutting or splicing?
None. Direct OEM replacement in nearly every case, with no cutting, no splicing, nothing permanent.
How long does it take?
30 to 90 minutes for a professional, model depending.
Can an owner fit it?
The airbag makes a professional the sensible choice. If you plan to do it yourself, a video or drawing set is supplied.
Will it throw codes?
Correctly installed, it should not. Any warning light means stop and scan.

Safety & Structure

How safe is it?
OEM cores or OEM-compatible structures, inspected before dispatch. Reuse of the original frame is recommended for factory behaviour.
Does carbon crack?
Not in normal service. The composite and its finish are specified for steering-wheel loads.
Does the airbag still fire correctly?
Yes — factory mounting points are retained, so the path is unchanged.

Build & Freight

How long is the build?
Ten to fifteen business days after confirmation.
Where do you deliver?
Most countries and regions; restricted destinations are flagged before dispatch.
How long in transit?
Fifteen to twenty days. Overall, twenty-five to thirty-five business days from order to arrival.
How is it packed?
High-density foam moulded to the wheel, layered pearl cotton, five-layer corrugated board. It is built to survive a long flight.

Aftercare

What cover is included?
Three years on manufacturing defects under normal use.
It arrived damaged — what now?
Tell us within 48 hours with photos or video and support takes over.
Are returns accepted?
Standard items under the policy, with 30 days to request an RMA. Custom builds are normally excluded unless the fault is ours.
What is in the box?
A complete assembly — airbag, paddles, buttons, carbon trim, ready for the original connectors — or a bare disc for owners moving their own hardware.
